HAMILTON, ON — November 20 — The Orono Leafs hit the
ice with energy and determination at this year’s Hamilton Huskies Classic,
delivering three exciting matchups and showcasing strong teamwork throughout
the day.
The Leafs opened the tournament facing the host team, the Hamilton Huskies. Despite the pressure of kicking off the event against the home squad, the Orono players came out skating hard, battling for every loose puck and showing impressive defensive effort.
In their second game, Orono matched up against Forest Hill. The Leafs continued to build momentum, demonstrating improved passing, communication, and steady goaltending that kept them competitive from start to finish.
For their final game of the day, the Leafs went head-to-head with the Ilderton Jets. Fatigue didn’t hold them back—Orono pushed through with grit and enthusiasm, closing out the tournament with another strong performance.
The team capped off the experience with a well-earned pizza party. Laughter, team spirit, and proud smiles filled the room as players celebrated their hard work and the memories made on and off the ice.
