Hockey Re-Start -- Wed Feb 17th
Submitted By Jeff Caplan on Mon 02 08, 21
Based on the information released by the provincial government this afternoon, the Durham Region Health Department may be moved into the red zone on Wednesday February 17th.  This will allow us to re-open the Orono Arena and re-start our OAAA hockey programs.

The OAAA believes the re-start of hockey is the best thing for our kids, both mentally and physically.

Watch for the schedule to be updated on our website.

The red zone allows for up to 10 players and 2 coaches on the ice and 1 spectator per player under the age of 18 in the arena.  The red zone protocols will be the same as what they were prior to the shutdown which began on December 26th.

We are currently exploring the option of extending the ice season at the arena into April which would allow us to extend the hockey season as well.  We are also exploring our options for playing games when our region returns to the Orange zone.

Please watch the website for the most up-to-date information as it becomes available.

We look forward to seeing you around the arena again soon!
